The surrendered National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) has appealed to Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu for urgent intervention to ensure the full implementation of the Tripartite Peace Accord-2024, alleging that most promises made under the agreement remain unfulfilled nearly two years after it was signed.
A delegation led by NLFT President Prasenjit Debbarma submitted a memorandum to the Governor on Wednesday, demanding immediate rehabilitation of surrendered cadres, execution of pending development initiatives, and stronger welfare measures for the indigenous Tiprasa community.
Majority of Returnees Yet to Receive Rehabilitation Benefits
According to the memorandum, despite the peace agreement being signed on September 4, 2024, around 90 percent of surrendered NLFT members have not received the rehabilitation package or other government assistance promised under the accord.
The organisation claimed that hundreds of former insurgents continue to live without financial security, employment opportunities or permanent rehabilitation, leaving many families uncertain about their future.
Development Package Still Awaiting Execution
The memorandum also alleged that the special economic development package announced under the Tripartite Peace Accord has not yet been implemented.
The organisation further expressed concern that representatives of surrendered NLFT and ATTF members were not included in key implementation bodies constituted under Clause 26 of the agreement, including:
-
Empowered Implementation and Monitoring Committee (EIMC)
-
State Level Executive Committee (SLEC)
-
Joint Working Group Committee (JWGC)
NLFT urged the government to constitute these committees strictly as per the peace agreement and ensure representation of returnee organisations so that development programmes are implemented transparently.

Key Demands Raised Before the Governor
The memorandum outlines several major demands aimed at accelerating the peace process and improving the socio-economic condition of the Tiprasa people.
These include:
-
Immediate implementation of every commitment under the Tripartite Peace Accord-2024
-
Nomination of surrendered NLFT leadership as Governor-nominated MDCs in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC)
-
Allocation of agricultural land to landless Tiprasa families
-
Recruitment opportunities for eligible Tiprasa youth in State and Central Government departments
-
Employment in security forces including Assam Rifles, BSF and CRPF
-
Fast-track government recognition and rehabilitation of all surrendered members of NLFT and ATTF

Appeal for Immediate Action
The organisation stated that these issues have repeatedly been brought to the attention of the concerned authorities but have received little response.
With rehabilitation and development measures still pending, NLFT has now requested the Governor to personally intervene and ensure that the commitments made under the Tripartite Peace Accord-2024 are implemented without further delay.
