Will Nab The Culprits: Manipur CM Condemning Attack On Security Forces In Bishnupur

Strongly condemning the terrorist attack on security forces in Bishnupur district, Manipur CM N Biren Singh said that he vows to arrest and punish the culprits without any delay.

Two CRPF jawans lost their lives in this attack. He said that those who protect us have been targeted.

On Saturday morning, terrorists attacked the IRBN (India Reserve Battalion) camp at Naransina in Moirang police station area. In which two CRPF soldiers were killed and two others were injured.

Manipur CM Biren Singh strongly condemned this incident and said that now the people deployed for the security of the state are being targeted. He said that it is a most unfortunate situation that our soldiers who are there to protect us are being targeted.

He said that now peace is gradually being restored in the state. He said efforts are on to nab the culprits and they will be brought to justice.

CM Biren Singh discussed about the ethnic conflict between Meiteis and Kukis. He said that an outline of government initiatives has been prepared to restore peace. In which efforts for reconciliation will be made through deployment of paramilitary forces and peace committees. He said that the government took several steps to control the situation.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spent three days in the state and also interacted with the communities. Responding to the opposition's criticism, he said this was not the first time that such an incident has taken place in the state. Manipur was a monarchy, the British annexed it to India and they worked on the policy of divide and rule. When Congress came to power, they also adopted this policy of the British.

He claimed that we tried for reconciliation only after the formation of the BJP government.  BJP started the war against drugs. CM Biren Singh said that BJP had started the war against drugs in 2018.

He said that since then there has been a decline in poppy cultivation. He also informed that heroin, opium and other narcotics worth more than Rs 60,000 crore have been seized in the last years.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that pressure is being put on voters to vote in favor of NDA's allies. The Election Commission takes action on the basis of reports from observers, not on the basis of social media posts. He also said that people participated enthusiastically in the elections.

Re-polling had to be conducted only at 11 polling stations. Ramesh had shared a video on Twitter on April 26 claiming that voters in Ukhrul district of outer Manipur were being pressured to support BJP's ally Naga People's Front instead of the Congress.
